About me
A. D. Mason writes ironic, plot-driven mysteries where emotional damage is a competitive sport and dead people are more honest than the living. Despite a background in scientific studies, she's been writing since she was fifteen. Turns out fictional murder investigations are way more satisfying than lab reports.
She lives in Tuscany, Italy, torturing fictional detectives and obsessing over the Mediterranean. Her husband and daughter have learned to recognize that look when she picks up a pen. The desperate glances they exchange no longer faze her.
When she's not writing, she's staring at the sea. Or researching obscure Italian folklore. Or pretending she's not already plotting the next emotional devastation for her characters. Her family stocks extra coffee and maintains a safe distance during deadline season.
Where the Dead Have Names is her debut novel in the D'Amico & Blackwood series. She won't apologize for the cliffhangers. She's already working on the next one, she's not stopping anytime soon and family has accepted their fate.
